Nagaur Camel Fair

The gateway township, fascinating town of Rajputs. This town was
granted to Raja Amar Singh Rathore by the Mughal Emporer Shah
Jahan. The famous Nagaur fort with panted wall some exquisite
frescoes and lovely murals.
Nagaur is famous for annual camel, cattle fair from all our
Rajasthan Sellers and Buyers come here along with there cows,
Bullocks, oxen and camels this fair remains for four days.
Nagaur one of the most picturesque townships of mighty Rajput,
comes alive every year during the winter months of January and
February. A beautiful town of Rajasthan, Nagaur is host to the
annual Cattle fair, the second largest in the state. During the
fair thousands of cattle are brought to Nagaur from far and near
areas of Rajasthan and neighboring states. Traders visit the
fair in large number to buy and see camels, bullocks, oxen,
horses and other cattle.
Bullocks of Nagaur are famous for their fleetness and their
special characteristics. Cattle are lavishly decorated and their
owners too wear colourful clothes and turbans. Some of the
owners also posses long moustaches. Though the four day festival
is known as the Cattle fair, but it showcases a number of
fun-filled activities such as camel races, bullock races,
tug-of-war and bull-fights.

Jaisalmer
The golden desert of Jaisalmer sketches a picture of timeless
beauty and charm. Situated in the state of royal Rajasthan. The
city boasts of some magnificent forts that stand testimony to
the aristrocratic Rajput epoch. Jaisalmer is on of the favorite
place on the tourist's itinerary.
Jaisalmer travel gives an idea of Rajasthan in its entire
traditional hues. Jaisalmer is a great place to witness the
opulent forts and other monuments frozen in time. The Jaisalmer
Fort is100 meters high and is a popular edifice that attracts a
large number of visitors. Several entrances called Pols welcomes
you and take you back into history. Also the Havelis of
Jaisalmer boasts of some ancient, impressive mansions built by
the merchants. Some of the Havelis are adorned with intricate
lattice work stretched all over Jaisalmer. The prominent ones
being Patwon Ki Haveli, Salim Singh Ki-Haveli and
Nathmalji-Ki-Haveli. There is Kailana Lake, which is an
artificial lake on the Jaisalmer road. An idyllic picnic spot
with spectacular sunsets.
The Gadsisar Lake which is a rainwater lake has now become a
picnic spot ideal for boating. Also there is the Tazia Tower,
which has a historical significance. This five-tiered tower has
a projecting balcony on each storey.
The famous Jain Temples are fine examples of intricate
craftsmanship on stone. They are dedicated to Rishabdev and
Sambhavanth. The royal ride is a way to explore the deserts,
than a camel safari. Ride the dunes on camel-back. Most safaris
last for three to four days, which is sufficient to discover the
arid land of Jaisalmer.
Jaisalmer offers a unique shopping experience to its visitors.
The place is acclaimed for its embroidered items. The embroidery
on garments coupled with mirror work is peerless. One can also
get the multi-colored Tie-dye fabrics available at the Khadi
Gramodyog Bhavan (Seemagram), not too far from the fort. Also
available are the traditional rugs, camel wool blankets, and
shawls.
At an altitude of 793 meters, maximum temperature is 46 degrees
Celsius and minimum 354 degrees Celsius. In winter the highest
is 14 and lowest is 1-degree Celsius. The best season to visit
Jaisalmer is between October and March.
